The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognizes a standard formula to convert HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin, a measure reflecting average blood sugar over roughly 2-3 months) into an estimated Average Glucose (eAG), expressed in the same units (mg/dL) as a regular blood glucose reading:
