How Support Card Bond (Affinity) Works
In Uma Musume Pretty Derby, each support card has a "bond" (often called affinity) level with your trainee, which increases as you train at facilities where that card is present, receive hints from it, and trigger its character-specific story events. Higher bond levels unlock better training bonuses, more frequent hints, and eventually a special bond-up event once you reach a high enough threshold.
Why This Estimate Is Simplified
The exact number of bond points awarded per training tap, hint, and event varies by specific support card rarity (R/SR/SSR), scenario, and has been adjusted across different game versions. This calculator uses simplified illustrative point values to give you a general sense of bond progression, not an exact frame-by-frame replica of the in-game bond formula.
General Tips for Building Bond Efficiently
- Training at the same facility repeatedly when a card you want to bond with is present is the most reliable way to accumulate bond points
- Prioritizing hints (often shown with a "!" icon) tends to give a bigger bond boost than a plain training tap
- Triggering a card's unique events, when they appear, typically gives the largest single bond boost available
