Square/Rectangular Tube Weight Formula

The weight of a square or rectangular hollow steel section is calculated from its cross-sectional steel area multiplied by the density of steel:

W (kg/m) = 2 × t × (A + B − 2t) × 0.00785

Where A and B are the outer side dimensions (mm), t is the wall thickness (mm), and 0.00785 is the density of steel (7.85 g/cm³) converted for this unit combination.
